  1. The last album to appear Dave Mustaine before he get kicked out of the band. He gets 2 writting credits on Call of Kathulu and Ride The Lightning
  1. The only instrumental track is Call of Kathlu. This song is named by Dave Mustaine and he wrote half of the riffs. The song is based on The Shadow Over Innsmouth by HP Lovecraft.

  1. The idea of the name for Ride the lightning first came that-one-day when Kirk Hammett was reading Stephen King’s The Stand, in a scene where ‘this guy’ was on death row and say he wanted to ‘ride the lightning’. Kirk thinks this would be a great song title so he told James, then end up as the song and album title there is today.
Felt sorry when he got kicked out, but at least he made Megadeth some years’ later.        ©Metal Injection

Note:

Hands down, my favorite Metallica album of all time.

All the songs from Ride the Lightning Album is approximately very inspiring and meaningful in the same time to be honest. So dark and obsessed with death and war/anti-war mixed all together. So powerful and youthful, definitely fits on this album. They did really great on Ride The Lightning in Through The Never Movie, the solo part an actual electric chair descends and zaps for like 1100 volts, and the “Die! Die! Die!” chant on Creeping Death. So legendary cool that I even had goosebumps.

I would really like to see them play Escape again live. that would be pretty neat!
